Claim Process

Stages 1 to 4 of the IVAA Claim Process

Stage 1 "Descriptions"

Stage 1 is focusing on the specifications. It's important to describe the items as accurately as possible.

We will need to write descriptions for jewellery in as much detail as possible. Please use our on-line “Jewellery Description Table” to create your list of jewellery.

You may also find our Jewellery Reference Chart helpful. It has images of common jewellery types and terminologies.

We also want to know if you have a preferred jeweller, so that we can include them in the next stage.

Stage 2 "Quotes"

Stage 2 is when we send quote requests to jewellers.

If you have a preferred jeweller, we will include them in the quoting process.

It can take up to 5 business days for the quotes to be submitted.

Stage 3 "Insurer Review"

Stage 3 is when your insurance company reviews the quotes.

If your preferred jeweller has submitted their quote, your insurer will be able to review and consider their quote.

Your insurer will take several factors into consideration during the process including the type of replacement available (whether it's an exact replacement or a similar replacement etc), the price of the replacement and the performance that the jeweller has provided to previous customers with their quality of product and customer service.

Stage 4 "Select Jewellers"

Stage 4 is when you can appoint jewellers.

This part of the process is quite flexible. You have the option to appoint a jeweller as an "obligation free" consultation.

We can send the approved amount to your preferred jeweller if you choose.

Claim Completion

The jewellers you select will contact you and organise the replacement jewellery. The IVAA Customer Care team will contact you once we have notification that you have received jewellery. If you have any questions during the claim or replacement process, please contact us.
